AUGUST 2018 – OUR MONTH OF REFLECTION!

GLOBAL COMMUNION SERVICE WITH PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME.

This month is a very special month. What’s the focus of the Spirit this month of August? As I was praying and meditating and listening to God and the Spirit of God ministered to me to give me insight. 1 Peter 5:8 — 1Pe 5:9 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? 2 Corinthians 13:5 NIV Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you —unless, of course, you fail the test? Hebrews 2:1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. We should let…slip…referring to the things we have heard or us drifting away. The point is that you’re not in the way of what you’ve been taught or learnt. Don’t let them depart from you or you don’t walk away from them. Hebrews 2:1NIV Warning to Pay Attention. We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.

This month has to do with the greater future God has for you. This month is encapsulated in one Word – Reflection. This month is the month of REFLECTION Look through the things and instructions He gave you. Are you following the directions the Lord has given you or are you drifting away. Go back and take your mind through the things you have been taught to make sure you are walking in God’s perfect will for your life. Give Him the attention he will guide you in all truth. This month He wants to remind you; he doesn’t want you to forget but build on the things He’s taught you….Grace upon Grace. When you come to a point in your life that the Lord is pointing your attention into the things you have been taught and evidently he is leading you to points of decision. Hebrews 11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. How does he even begin to journey? When you come to the point if decision;

1- What did God tell you before?
2- Can you trust Him?
By faith he sourjoned in the land of promise. Heb 11:9 — Heb 11:10 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. Abraham sought a city founded by God; a city that had the principles of the laws of God. When you come to Christ there are lots of distractions that seek to lure you away. Are you looking for a city whose binder and maker is God? In yoyr life you have to make a clear distinction between the world and Christ. Where do you want to live in this world? As a man of this world or in Christ? Abraham dwelt in the earth as a stranger see verse 9 (NIV). Are you living as a stranger or are you holding to this world. When you are making decisions are you taking decisions that will alter the course of your life forever or that will move you in the direction of God’s plan for your life. Familiar voices will come to you, but they are not necessarily the voice that God sends to you. A stranger is someone that God has not sent into your life. The voice that is confirming your prophecy is it God’s voice to you?. ….”A stranger’s voice they will not follow…” The one that you have known confirms the voice of the Spirit to you.

Man is always looking for the spectacular in the supernatural. Heb 11:24 — Heb 11:26 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleMoney Locate Me Always:
asures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. This is where it matters. What are your values? Moses esteemed the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. Egypt is a type of the world. You can be brought out of the world into Christ but you can not be brought out of Christ into the world. Moses defeated Egypt with a rod not with an army. He thought that he would do so initially with his military skills. He had to go in exile for 40 years to unlearn the things he had learnt in Egypt to do the things God said to do.

In life there are decisions to be made. It is not the most attractive ones that are from God. What did God say? Go back to His Word. No one ever put themselves in God’s hand and regretted it. Rth 1:1 — Rth 1:16 The Story of Naomi, Orpah and Ruth the Moabites Ruth Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehemjudah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons. And the name of the man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife Naomi, and the name of his two sons Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Bethlehemjudah. And they came into the country of Moab, and continued there. And Elimelech Naomi’s husband died; and she was left, and her two sons. And they took them wives of the women of Moab; the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth: and they dwelled there about ten years. And Mahlon and Chilion died also both of them; and the woman was left of her two sons and her husband. Then she arose with her daughters in law, that she might return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that the Lord had visited his people in giving them bread. Wherefore she went forth out of the place where she was, and her two daughters in law with her; and they went on the way to return unto the land of Judah. And Naomi said unto her two daughters in law, Go, return each to her mother’s house: the Lord deal kindly with you, as ye have dealt with the dead, and with me. The Lord grant you that ye may find rest, each of you in the house of her husband. Then she kissed them; and they lifted up their voice, and wept. And they said unto her, Surely we will return with thee unto thy people. And Naomi said, Turn again, my daughters: why will ye go with me? are there yet any more sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands? Turn again, my daughters, go your way; for I am too old to have an husband. If I should say, I have hope, if I should have an husband also to night, and should also bear sons; Would ye tarry for them till they were grown? would ye stay for them from having husbands? nay, my daughters; for it grieveth me much for your sakes that the hand of the Lord is gone out against me. And they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her. And she said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law. And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: What Naomi said was true and it didn’t make sense for them to do otherwise.

When you are at the point of decision you do not look for what is the best idea, practical or sensical. Look for what God said. Not your dream or how you feel. Vision is what matters. If you heart is after God’s vision God will draw you away from your sensible decision to the one He has for you. The more you think on that decision and dress it up the more alluring it will be to you to follow. Ruth was a moabite who marries Boaz who births Jesse the father of David the lineage of Jesus. But Orpah did not end well. 100 men organismzed by the Phillistines raped her to birth 4 giant sons… 2 Samuel 1: 2Sa 21:15 — Money Locate Me Always:
2 Samuel 21:22 Moreover the Philistines had yet war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David waxed faint. And Ishbibenob, which was of the sons of the giant, the weight of whose spear weighed three hundred shekels of brass in weight, he being girded with a new sword, thought to have slain David. But Abishai the son of Zeruiah succoured him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the men of David sware unto him, saying, Thou shalt go no more out with us to battle, that thou quench not the light of Israel. And it came to pass after this, that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob: then Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Saph, which was of the sons of the giant. And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam. And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant. And when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea the brother of David slew him. These four were born to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants. There were 4 brothers that were brothers to Goliath.

These were all Orpah’s sons. Goliath was born by Orpah Ruth’s Sister. So when Orpah turned away from Naomi she gave birth to giants. “The sons of her that kissed shall fall before the sons of her that clave”….prophecy that spoke of the outcomes of Ruth and Orpah It matters the decisions you make in life. Whether you produce a Goliath or a David. Doesn’t matter if it’s a Goliath he will still be killed by David.

It’s a month of REFLECTION called so before you were born. Heb 11:13 — Heb 11:16 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. Watch their LANGUAGE!! They that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.

Until you burn your bridges….The army of God has different classes. Stay where God put you. In the army of God they don’t break ranks. We have many Christians dealing with the world already. He doesn’t have to convert you to the world to collect what they are collecting. Acts 7:37- Act 7:37 — Act 7:39 This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear. This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us: To whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust him from them, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt, In their hearts they went back to Egypt.

Decision time! Don’t polish your human vision. When you come into ministry you’re serving God. There are instructions in God’s Word given to the church and the world; given to different classes of people – Children, Pastors, Parents, Spouse, Fathers, sons. The Bible tells us how to behave in the house of God. He taught us how to relate with the world, those who have not received salvation. Reflect on these things. Meditate, Contemplate!
