From our opening scripture, itβs evident that you can change anything through prayer because the divine power necessary to cause that change is in you; it was deposited in you the moment you received the Holy Spirit into your life: βBut you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon youβ¦β (Acts 1:8). Through prayer, we can activate the power of God and effect changes in the realm of the Spirit.
We can bring that power to bear on situations and circumstances we want to be changed. For example, we can put a stop to the recurrent spate of wars, natural disasters and violence that result in wanton destruction of lives and property in many parts of the world today.
Through our effective, fervent prayers, we can implant lasting peace in war-torn, disaster-ravaged and terrorism-prone countries in our world. Weβve been mandated to do this: β…Seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peaceβ (Jeremiah 29:7).
Pray today, and regularly, for peace to mantle the nations of the earth and rule the hearts of men all over the world. Pray fervently in other tongues and declare that Godβs angels of peace are released into every previously troubled region in the earth, to cause the peace of God to garrison the hearts of men and women domiciled therein. Set yourself to pray like this oftenβearnestly, fervently, passionately and intensely for peace on earth, and thereβll surely be greater peace and tranquillity all over the globe.

Dear Father, your Word reveals Christ as the only hope for peace in the earth, for His birth brought peace on earth and goodwill to all men. I pray for the impact and greater influence of that peace in the hearts of men today, in Jesusβ Name. Amen.
