GOING TO WORK ON SUNDAY?

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS SESSION WITH PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME

Is it wrong for a Christian to go to work on Sunday?

Pastors’ response: Now the first part of your question on going to work on Sunday instead of Church is it a sin? No it’s not a sin but you’ve got to learn to make opportunities, create opportunities from your challenges.

Now, we have a lot of Christians who live in the Arab countries and in many of the Arab countries, they go to work on Sunday. It’s on Fridays where they are able to go to the mosque that the Christian also are able to go to church. So, main service days for most of them will be on Fridays instead of Sunday because they go to work on Sunday. Are they sinning? No, they are making the best of the situation and that’s exactly what you are going to do.

GOING TO WORK ON SUNDAY?...

You can start a cell, talk to your Pastor and discuss the possibility of starting a cell at that place of work. Maybe you can come you and your foe, your colleagues can come to work an hour before the schedule time of resumption or at break time. You can meet there. So, bring the church to your place of work and you will be solving not only your problem but the problem of several others. So, your challenges will become an opportunity.

Now, queen the second part of your question when you are asking that when someone has a dream that her dead father speaks to her about a past event, is it a true dream? Now, when you say is it a true dream, you mean did the dream happen. The dream might have happened the question will be, should such a dream be reliable? No it is not reliable, no matter how factual the content of the dream might be. A message from someone that has died is definitely not a messenger from God because remember in the Old Testament God forbid is children from consulting with dead (Deuteronomy 18:10-11). You are not allowed God says it is wrong and if God says it is wrong to consult with the dead or to receive instructions from the dead then it’s clear that God will not send ones dead father to bring him information.

So, as far as that is concerned is definitely not a message from God. God got other ways to send his messages, he doesn’t use the dead. He forbids that, he doesn’t want his children to do that, now and if God is not in it while would you want to live by it. Don’t live by it, don’t accept the message.

Remember just because a prophecy is factual doesn’t mean God sent the speaker or the messenger remember that, there are other things that you need that will help you determine whether a true message is from God. That the message is true is not enough or factual rather is not enough because there are other things, what does that message draw your attention to. Should we believe in the dead bringing us a message when God says not to do that or should we accept God’s word as final authority?

So, you will accept God’s word as final authority and refuse to have fears about the dead or messages from the dead. So, you should discard the dream, if it happens again rebuke it, that’s what we will do.
