9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

MESSAGE:

When a baby is born, the whole neighbourhood celebrates. As the baby begins to feed on the mother’s breast milk or nourishing supplements, he or she grows, achieving milestones such as crawling, sitting, hopping, growing teeth, et cetera. However, eyebrows will be raised if a child doesn’t attain a measure of growth at certain ages. For example, if a child is not speaking at age four, his or her parents will begin to seek medical help.

This is similar to the faith life of a new convert. The more the new convert studies and meditates on the word of God and applies it to his or her life, the better he or she will become in all areas. Luke 2:52 says: “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”

If Jesus studied hard and prayed on mountains just to strengthen His relationship with God, His father, then you have no reason to leave your growth to chance. You must intentionally work on your growth so that you can bear fruits that are pleasing to the Lord.
