LOCATE YOURSELF IN THE WORD TODAY BY PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME.
for He saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time: behold, now is the day of salvation. ( 2 Corinthians 6:2).
I remember a hymn we use to sing back then, and one of the lines says,” O God our help in ages past, our hope for years to come”. I got comfortable with the song after a while because I noticed it only referred to the past and the future but left out something very important- TODAY!
Some people find it very convenient to hide in the victories of the past and trust in the glories of tomorrow but leave out today because they don’t know how to take advantage of what belongs to them in Christ, in the NOW. Some would say, “Praise the Lord, Jesus died for me; He shed His blood for me 2000 years ago or He’s coming again; I know Jesus will surely come back” Yes, He died for you (past), and He’s coming again at the rapture of the church( future), but what about today? Between the past and the future is the present-a present where you have to pay attention to your health, finances, family and so on. So don’t limit the blessings of God and the benefits of salvation to the past or sweet-by-and-by. Jesus died for a good life TODAY!
Find out from God’s word your present-hour inheritance; find out what He has made you and given to you to enjoy in the NOW! Locate yourself in the blessings of God-in the benefits of your salvation and live in your God-given inheritance TODAY. It’s good to know what Jesus did for you in the past, and what awaits you in the future, but don’t neglect today.
Decide today to be the best you can ever be; let today mark a new beginning in your perpetual story of success; let it be the benchmark for a continuous life of victory and progress. Enjoy the best in life today, for your best in life today, your best in life NOW.
