MFM Devotional For Today 2024 MESSAGE:

One of the silent Generals in the Bible is the man called Uriah. He was one of the most loyal and faithful servants to David. While he was in the line of duty, fighting for the nation of Israel on the battle field, King David was busy taking advantage of his wife by luring her to commit adultery with him. After the incident had gone beyond what King David anticipated, he started scheming on how to cover his tracks by telling Joab to send Uriah back home. All his efforts and attempts to manipulate Uriah to go home and have sex with his wife proved abortive and unsuccessful.

The Fire Scripture today revealed the response that Uriah gave to David after he was asked by David why he had refused to go home. Uriah’s response to King David should be a model that every believer should adopt to conquer any pressure from our environment to do the wrong thing. Uriah said, “The ark and Israel and Judah are dwelling in tents, and my lord Joab and the servants of my lord are encamped in the open fields. Shall I then go to my house to eat and drink, and to lie with my wife? As you live, and as your soul lives, I will not do this thing.” He (Uriah) prioritised the interest of God’s Kingdom and his nation’s interest above his personal interest.

He was so faithful to his boss that when King David gave him an envelope that contained his letter of execution to Joab on the battle field, he would not open it despite the fact he suspected a foul play from David. This man was faithful till death.

Beloved, the time we live in today calls for men and women that will go all the way against the tide of corruption that is prevalent in our environment and make a difference by the quality of their decision and character. Creation waits for the sons of God to manifest and there is no better way to manifest as Christians than the moment we choose to stand for righteousness and ignore the alluring benefits and dividends of compromise.
