I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession (1 Timothy 6:13).
The word âConfessionâ here, is translated from the Greek word âHomologia,â which means to speak the same thing in consent. Confessing the Word means you agree with, and say what the Word of God says about you, Himself, your world or anyone or situation.
Why is it so important that we confess the Word boldly? Itâs because our confessions are or create realities. Jesus said, âYou shall have what you sayâ (Mark 11:23). What are the things youâre supposed to say? Theyâre the same things God has already declared in Scriptures.
Hebrews 13:5-6 says, ââŠfor he hath saidâŠSo that we may boldly sayâŠ.â The reason He said what He said is so that we may boldly say the same thing. Godâs Word isnât for you to hear and be quiet; you respond by saying the same thing. Thatâs true confession of the Word. God gave you the Word so youâll boldly proclaim it.
Someone might ask, âMust I say it?â Emphatically yes! Otherwise, youâll never experience the vital reality of the Word of God in your life. Itâs the way to get your spirit to take a hold of the Word to become a reality in your life. The Christian life is lived by words; itâs for talkers; talkers of the Word. Perhaps you know someone whoâs been attacked by cancer, diabetes or any kind of sickness; advise them not to keep quiet! They should have âtalking sessions.â You say, âWhat if theyâre too weak to talk?â Let them mutter or even whisper: âI have the life of God in me; the Spirit that raised up Jesus from the dead lives in me; therefore, my whole body is vitalized and energized with divine life. No sickness can stay in my body. The presence of Godâs Spirit destroys every trace of sickness and disease in my body.â
If they mutter it long enough, itâll turn into a shout, and soon enough theyâll bounce off that sickbed. Godâs Word is medicine. It cures every infirmity and keeps you in divine health.
PRAYER
Dear Lord, thank you for the victorious and prosperous life I have in Christ. I live in health and in glory every day, because of your grace and righteousness in me. Youâve blessed me in all things, and with all things; therefore, Iâm forever grateful! Iâm guided by your wisdom to walk in, and fulfil your perfect will for me, in Jesusâ Name. Amen.
