THE AUDACITY OF UPRIGHTNESS

THE AUDACITY OF UPRIGHTNESS – DR. PAUL ENENCHE

SCRIPTURE: And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word. – 1 Kings 17:1

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Righteous living silences the forces of darkness.

MESSAGE:

Our anchor Scripture introduces us to Elijah, a Tishbite and an inhabitant of Gilead. One day, he boldly declared to Ahab: As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word. 1Kings 17:1. What audacity! Elijah was a fearless man who could stand before the king of his nation and make authoritative decrees because of his unwavering stand with God.

I HAVE CEASED FROM ALL STRUGGLES...

A stand with God means having a firm and consistent relationship with God. Elijah had this level of relationship with God. His boldness to confront Ahab and his authority over demonic powers were rooted in his right standing with God. He lived without guilt or fear because he maintained integrity and godliness. No force on earth or in the spiritual realm dared challenge Elijah in his time. His audacity to confront kings and demonic powers was rooted in his uprightness and godly lifestyle. Elijah’s life demonstrated the fact that those who live uprightly can challenge and overcome any evil authority or demonic power. Righteous living silences the forces of darkness.
