THE LUST OF THE FLESH
MEMORISE: There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. – 1 Corinthians 10:13

16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
MESSAGE:
The Bible tells us about the struggle Christians face with the lust of the flesh. Your flesh and the Spirit are always in opposition, but you must choose to walk in the Spirit if you want to resist the temptations of the flesh. The desires of the flesh include all forms of sinful desires such as: sexual immorality, greed, envy, among others.
Today’s memory verse gives us hope because God is faithful, and He will never leave us to face temptations alone. Before a temptation comes your way, God will have made a way of escape. However, it is unfortunate that many children of God still give in to temptations. The reason for this is not far-fetched; they give room for the things of the flesh.
Beloved, I charge you to submit yourselves to God. Fill your mind with the word of God so that you can decipher the wiles of satan. Also, engage in spiritual exercises such as fasting and praying so that you can gain spiritual stamina. Prayerfully seek an accountability partner with whom you can pray together and share your concerns.
