THE SIGNIFICANCE OF CONQUERING YOURSELF

We’re Like Him In His Glorified State

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF CONQUERING YOURSELF BY PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME DSC. DSC. DD.

“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Mark 8:36-37)

Throughout history, there have been hundreds of well-known leaders who subdued other men. The whole world was subject to them; they had everything under their tyranny. Some were even revered and placed by others in the class of God. But Jesus said, ‘For what shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?’ (Mark 8:36-37).

Never pride yourself in your ability to subdue or dominate others; rather, learn to use your authority over yourself. When you conquer yourself, you always win. When you say to yourself, “I am going to only do and say the right thing,” keep that promise throughout your life. THE SIGNIFICANCE OF CONQUERING YOURSELF

He only tells you to do what you have the capacity to do. When your words and actions are under your charge, consciously subjected to God’s word, then you are ready for true success.

When you tell yourself, ‘Nothing filthy will come out of me’ and consciously ensure such a lifestyle through the word, that is the way to victory.

Refuse to give vent or expression to satanic manifestations such as anger, hatred, bitterness, jealousy and envy. Be sure that only the blessings, grace and compassion of Jesus are seen and experienced by everyone around you.

Believers should make the choice that only His love and works of righteousness will effuse from them to their world. The Bible is replete with the admonition for people not to fear. If we could not stay without being afraid and anxious, the scriptures would not tell us not to fear or to refuse anxiety. God knows you could live without anxiety, panic attacks and fear. That is why He said for you not to fear or be anxious. He only tells you to do what you have the capacity to do.

The knowledge of the word of God is the beginning of one’s deliverance from fear and anxiety. You cannot have faith in the word of God if you do not know the word. Your faith grows with the knowledge of the word. As faith is stirred in your spirit, fear is dispelled.

ELIMINATE FEAR!

Jesus said, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:19)

There’s no reason for you to be afraid of the devil, because Jesus defeated and paralyzed him, and gave you the victory. So, you’ve triumphed over Satan already; never be afraid of him! Jesus has the keys of hell and of death, which means you don’t even have to be afraid of death. Death has also been defeated; it’s last enemy that shall be destroyed (1 Corinthians 15:26). So, why would you accommodate fear?

HIDDEN TRUTH ~ PRAYER NETWORK

Jesus said, “…the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me” (John 14:30). This was the testimony of the Son of God. This should be your testimony as well. Every now and then, you should declare: “Satan has nothing in me! He doesn’t have his doubts in me! He doesn’t have his fears in me!” Thoughts of fear will cripple your faith, and stop the power of God from flowing in your direction. So, when negative thoughts – thoughts of fear, defeat and frustration – come to you, eliminate them speedily.

Fear is a tormenting spirit that creates the perfect environment for Satan to intimidate and dominate people’s lives. However, the Holy Spirit in you helps you deal with fear; He’s the One that invigorates you with miracle-working ability in your inner man. He emboldens and strengthens you on the inside, dispelling fear of every kind.

Perhaps, you’ve been having fears in your life – fear of terror, fear that something terrible might happen to you, stop the fear! The Bible says, “He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler (Psalm 91:4). Wow! This is the Lord talking here, assuring you that there’s nothing to fear, because He’s with you always (Hebrews 13:5). Whether in the nighttime or daytime, He protects you and takes care of you. Therefore, rid your heart of fear!
