A lot of times, we hear politicians saying things like, “We will tax the rich and let the poor go free.” But let me say this: If you tax the rich more than you should, they will eventually pass the burden on to the poor. The poor can never truly exist without the power and influence of the rich. Let me ask you some simple questions: Who are the people that create jobs? The rich. Who are the employers of labor? The rich.

If you overtax the rich beyond what is necessary, they will reduce the pay of the poor. So you see, no matter how hard you try to punish the rich, it eventually ends up punishing the poor. DO NOT PUNISH THE RICH!
I have to say this because many times, when politicians declare, “We will punish the rich” (by taxing them more), the poor often shout, “YES! Punish them!” They cheer because they are usually angry at the rich.

Let me explain something to you: poverty is not merely a condition of your finances, nor is it the absence of necessities. Poverty is a confession. Poverty is an identity. It is a state of mind.
Hear me: everything you’ll ever need in life is already inside you. The house in which you live came from inside you. The job or business you have today also came from inside you. You may not have realized it, but it’s the truth.
People who understand this truth know how to turn things around. Those who don’t, often blame the city, the government, or external circumstances for where they are in life. But everything in life is connected to your inside—your spirit. God has put eternity—the whole world—into your heart.
Let me go further: when you take an orange seed in your hands—just that tiny white seed—it carries the potential to produce its own root, stem, branches, leaves, and fruits, which in turn produce many more seeds. Your life is just like that. Everything that will ever happen to you proceeds from your inside.
The Scriptures say, “Guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it flow the issues of life.” That’s why God has given us the power of imagination. You can choose what you want in life. Don’t wait for opportunities to come to you. Opportunities don’t come to us—we create them.
Do you hear me? Don’t wait for an opportunity. Make them!
