GLOBAL PRAYER AND FASTING WITH REV. CHRIS OYAKHILOME, DSC, DSC, DD.
I want to welcome you to today’s program. Remember, we have the Global Fasting and Praying program for this month of February. Along with it, this time, is the first phase of Season 12 of Your LoveWorld Specials.
Psalm 18:1–50. Some of the verses are prophetic of the Messiah and have been fulfilled. As we read, observe carefully one of the things that he says that concerns you, and the things that he says about the enemies of God as well.
Isaiah 55. This is a prophecy. I want you to observe the ones that concern you.
There are blessings in reading the Scriptures; the Bible says so. Study has its own blessings, but just reading the Scriptures has wonderful blessings. So learn to do it. Meditate and simply read. It will guide you, and much of it will be stamped on your heart.
Joshua 1:7–8. Speak the Word. If you meditate on the Word, it will cause you to observe to do it; it will make you do it.
There are people who complain about others and the opportunities they did not get from them, or about being despised. They do not really know the Lord. When you know the Lord, you do not keep a record of the wrongs done to you.

1 Corinthians 13:4–5 (TLB). There are people who keep a catalog of what others did wrong. A Christian heart should not accommodate bitterness and anger. Do not forget who you are. It is one of the ways you know when God is talking to you or when Satan is talking to you.
Imagine you went to Jesus to complain that so-and-so did you wrong. What do you think Jesus would say? Jesus told Peter to forgive 490 times in one day.
If you can keep all those wrongs that they have done to you, you must be dirty. Verse 5 says love does not hold grudges and will hardly even notice when others do it wrong. If you love someone, you will be loyal to him no matter what the cost (verse 7). The Bible covers everything in human life.
If you want to know when God is talking to you—whether it is God or the devil—do not speculate. God’s voice will never be different from what He has written.
If you live as God’s Word says, you will always win and be successful, no matter what. But if you listen to your flesh and the voice of your emotions, you will lose out. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Be careful.
Verse 8: Gain is not godliness. Just because you got some good results does not mean you are godly. One day, prophecy and speaking in tongues will disappear, but love will continue.
A word to pastors and leaders: sometimes churches are built on anger and dissatisfaction, just as in politics. If you build a life on such things, you are building on the wrong foundation. That is terrible. It cannot stand the harsh winds of adversity. You have to be careful. Learn to do what is right and practice God’s Word.
1 Timothy 4:7. Exercise yourself rather unto godliness. The Greek word translated “godliness” does not contain the word “God” at all; it is more appropriately translated as “goodliness.” (In 1 Timothy 2:10, however, “God” is included in that word.)
But it does refer to godly devotion and piety. It is a generic word for commitment or devotion toward God in all things. A godly person thinks favorably and acts in a way that honors God. “Great is the mystery of godliness” means great is the mystery of the nature of God.
Verses 7–8 deal with spirituality in the things of God and the kind of life God wants you to live—one that is pleasing to Him. Godliness is profitable for all things, including your body. It affects every area of your life.
In 1 Timothy 4:7–8 (MSG), we are told, “No spiritual flabbiness, please.” So, how much attention should you give to spiritual fitness? You are to give serious attention to the things of God. This is the Year of Manifestation. God wants you to have an extraordinary life.
Your prayer life should be sound. Your evangelistic life should be sound. Study the Word and put it to work so that you become the living Word. The Word of God becomes lived out through you—that is what He wants for you. He calls us Epistles of Christ, living letters.
Your everyday life, therefore, is a testimony of His goodness, His grace, and His love. You become the living Bible. Others can literally watch you and learn about God. Jesus said, “If you have seen Me, you have seen the Father.” He was the character and icon of the Father. That is what He wants you to be too—your life as the outworking of His Person. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever in you. We are not ordinary people; He wants us to keep the world running on His terms.
In John 15:1 and verse 5, we learn that the beauty of the vine is found in the branches. We bear His glory, His life, and His Name. Away from Him, we can do nothing. Verse 7 tells us that we shall ask what we will, and it shall be done for us—this is far beyond religion. During the next Healing Streams, we will pray for the sick around the world, and many will be healed.
