Global Fasting And Prayer Featuring Your LoveWorld Specials Season 12, Phase 1, (Day 2) With Rev. Chris Oyakhilome, DSc., DSc., D.D.
In Luke 18:1 (KJV), it is written: “And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint.” This was no suggestion. They should pray. They are supposed to pray. Jesus wasn’t advising them to pray; He taught them that it was necessary because life is spiritual.
Of course, there are people who don’t believe in all of that, except what they can perceive with their senses. But that’s stupidity. To assume that man is just an animal is foolish. It’s not even natural to assume so. That’s a deception. Jesus told us men ought always to pray and not to faint. Never let down on your praying.
The real purpose of prayer is far beyond the answers to prayer. You have answers when God grants your requests, but the purpose of prayer is not about your requests or the answers. It is far higher than asking and receiving.
In 2 Peter 1:1–4 (KJV), the Bible says: “Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” Notice the tenses—He has already done it.
“Partakers of the divine nature” means associates of the God-kind. It also means participating in the divine experience. We have been invited to participate in the divine experience. In 1 Corinthians 1:9 (KJV), the Bible says: “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.” And verse 30 says: “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.” We were called into fellowship. This is an amazing reality. Prayer is far deeper than asking and receiving.
1 John 1:3 (KJV) says: “That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.” This is the highest calling. We are dining at the highest levels. That’s why it’s called the Lord’s Table when we share the Communion. When you understand Christianity, you will realize this is the greatest mystery, beyond human knowledge. You must have fellowship with God to understand it. We don’t only know Him, but we are in Him that is true.
So hold your Christianity in steadfastness. We’ve got the best of all. Nothing in this life can explain it. Realize that we can pray for as long as we want to through the agency of the Spirit. He helps us in prayer; therefore, we are not repetitious, but speaking divine things in the Spirit.
2 Peter 1:3–4 declares that God has called us to glory and virtue—a life worthy of praise. These precious promises bring us into comradeship with the divine. There’s no reason it shouldn’t be so. If Jesus was who He claimed to be, we should expect nothing less from His sacrifice. He came to raise sons of God. He has given us eternal life.
1 John 5:11–13 (KJV) says: “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life.” It’s not a promise—He has given eternal life to us. He wants you to know that you have eternal life so that you live it. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (TLB) says: “When someone becomes a Christian he becomes a brand new person inside. He is not the same anymore. A new life has begun!” Not renovated, reworked, or making New Year resolutions—but a new person that never existed before.
Romans 10:9–10 (KJV) shows you how to become a Christian: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Your affirmation translates to confirmation. You have a new life inside you. What you need to know is what this life is capable of. (Angels are not a race. No two angels are the same. They are strikingly different from one another. Each one is a unique creature of its kind. There can be classes, such as Cherubim or Seraphim, but each one is different.)
God has given us a life that we must study and understand from His Word to know what we are capable of. Once you understand it, live it. The trouble is, sometimes we tend to live the life we were used to. We think human, act human, and get human results. 2 Corinthians 4:16–17 (KJV) says: “For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.” Though the outward man is battered with pressure, the inward man is renewed daily. Paul endured tremendous persecution and physical suffering, yet he called it light affliction because his eyes were fixed on the glory beyond the pain.
When he was in prison, he and Silas sang praises to God. They were God’s free men inside that prison. Though their hands and feet were fastened in stocks, they sang praises in that condition. As they praised, the prison shook, the locks were broken, and they came out free. That’s amazing.
In 2 Corinthians 4:18 (KJV), the Bible says: “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” Here is the principle: not looking at the things that are seen can be hard for doctors to do. Yet the unseen realities are real. Life is spiritual.
There are unseen realities governing the visible world. Why do you think many globalists are involved in occult practices? They are seeking spiritual power. In many government circles around the world, individuals join spiritual organizations and fraternities because they promise power and influence.
But Satan is like wine. Proverbs 20:1 (KJV) says: “Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.” Wine appears pleasant and creates a desire for more as one drinks it. That is how deception works.
Verse 2 says: “The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion: whoso provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul.” There is a dichotomy here. Satan is also the king of his kingdom—the kingdom of darkness. He unleashes his authority on those who provoke him. He does not play fair.

In satanism, they are given the impression that Satan is a good figure. Many who join such fraternities do so because they want security in their jobs and influence in their spheres. The things they are given to eat and drink during initiation are terrible. Who would believe that intelligent people would participate in such things? Yet they do.
The Name of Jesus has power in all three realms—heaven, earth, and hell. He gave us the power of attorney to use His Name, and we are using it effectively to keep our world on course, which is very important to God. God wants this world to be at peace and to prosper. The earth is full of the goodness of God, yet many do not experience His goodness—not because it isn’t available, but because of the works of men. Man’s inhumanity to man has produced suffering. Poverty is man-made. Some of the most hardworking people on earth are poor; if poverty were the result of laziness, they should not be poor. Life is spiritual.
There is a work of the Holy Ghost going on around the world at this time. The Spirit is mobilizing His children from every nation. This is the most glorious moment of the Church since the days recorded in the Acts of the Apostles. The triumph of Jesus Christ will be made known throughout the earth by the Church in these days in which we live. The wisdom of Christ will be demonstrated in ways the world has never seen.
The work of the Holy Ghost in this hour will surpass anything we have witnessed before, and it is happening now. Doors are open, and angels are carrying out extraordinary ministries. The Lord is uniting His people, not dividing them. They are speaking with one voice to the ends of the earth. The love of Christ is reigning supreme and triumphant.
God is speaking to us through the Holy Spirit: “Do not look at the distractions, for they are many. Look at My work. Focus on My work.” He is calling our attention to what He is doing. He wants us focused on His agenda, not on the losers—for Satan and his agents are losers. Christ is raised far above them. The work of God in the earth is far beyond their comprehension. Glory be to God.
Do you want to expand your assets? Then expand your assets in the Word of God, for that is what matters most now. Everything else will fail and fade. How great is His inheritance given to us? Ephesians 3:8 (AMPC) describes it as unending, boundless, fathomless, incalculable, and exhaustless—wealth that no human being could have searched out. This describes our worth. Some people do not realize that this is real. It is like asking whether Jesus is real. From the virgin birth onward, He astonished the world and revealed realities beyond human imagination.
